You’ve done the hard work; twice now.
You acknowledged your emotions. You didn’t isolate.
That’s huge. That’s healing in motion.
But here's something we often skip:
Asking for help.
I won’t lie;this one stings the ego. Because in our minds, asking for help is equivalent to failure. We say things like:
“I should be able to handle this.”
“It’s not that deep.”
“People have it worse.”
So we carry things meant for two, five, or even ten people… alone.
But here’s the truth I’m still learning:
Strength isn't always about enduring in silence. Sometimes, strength is in the whisper; “I can’t do this by myself.” It’s in opening up to a mentor, a friend, a therapist, or even God, and saying, “Please, help me. I’m tired.”
And if you’ve ever said that before; let me say this: You are brave. Not weak. Not dramatic. Not less spiritual. Just human.
Even Moses needed help when his hands got heavy. Jesus had Simon help Him carry the cross. You? You’re no exception.
You were never created to do life alone, and you don’t get extra points for burning out in silence. Let trusted people in. Let God in. Let help find you.
Healing isn’t always linear. But every time you ask for help, you’re saying, “I want to live. I want to grow. I want to heal.”
And that alone? That’s worth celebrating.
Till next Thursday,
With love,
Tolu.
